Sun, shadow and the colour of the façade change how a shade reads more than you’d think.

The second tip is not to choose the fence colour in isolation, but in relation to three things: the façade, the joinery (windows and doors) and the roof. When the fence “matches” at least one of them, the whole property looks considered. The safest combination is to take the tone of the joinery — if your windows are anthracite, an anthracite fence almost always works. The third tip: darker shades (anthracite, black) look modern and “expensive”, but they heat up more in strong sun and fine dust shows a little more on them; lighter ones are more practical to maintain. Neither is wrong — it’s just good to know before you choose.
